China – the land of 1,000 opportunities. Hardly a day goes by without new innovations and inventions, especially in the field of technology. As a technology nerd with a love of livestreams, China is naturally at the top of Martin Prankl’s list of dream destinations. In August of this year, Martin therefore started his ‘research trip’, as he calls it himself. Within a week, he visited several companies that produce products in the livestream sector. Because at Stream1, we are always on the lookout for the best solutions for our customers – whether powerful encoders, innovative camera systems or flexible streaming platforms.
Mine Media: Advanced livestream solutions for professional broadcasts
The first stop was our long-standing partner Mine Media. We have been using the M4 Mini router and the Q8 encoder for many years. A camera that supports livestream bonding and a new mixer for high-quality transmissions, even in 4K, have recently been added to the range. The R10 mixer offers both SDI and HDMI inputs, making it ideal for various live streams such as sports broadcasts. A particular highlight is the seamless integration of the camera, decoder and mixer in a single app. This makes it easy to manage multiple image sources.
Univiso: Cloud-based innovations for flexible streaming experiences
After arriving in Chengdu, Martin travelled on to the Univiso branch. Accompanied by Bianca, he was given a comprehensive introduction to their innovative products, which are suitable for both the professional and entry-level markets. In addition to the hardware-based solutions, Univiso also offers a cloud option, which is particularly interesting for smaller production teams. This makes it possible to access the cloud directly without physical servers and stream from anywhere. This is a cost-effective solution for streamers looking for a simple and efficient way to broadcast high-quality content.
Kiloview: Revolutionary encoder technology for the live streaming of the future
In Changsha, Martin then moved on to Kiloview. According to Martin, the new P3 Wireless Encoder could revolutionise the way we experience live streaming. This is because the P3 encoder supports up to six channels for bonding 4G and 5G connections. The special feature is certainly the modular design. The end customer can decide for themselves how many SIM cards they want to use – be it four times 5G, four times 4G or a mixture of both. The P3 can be operated for up to ten hours thanks to the internal and external battery, ideal for mobile applications. In addition to the hardware, Kiloview also impresses with its software, in particular the Kilolink Server Pro. This free software solution allows all devices to be remotely controlled and networked via a web interface, making operation even easier for users.
Cadothy: All-in-one solutions for mobile and professional livestreams
Last but not least, Martin went to Cadothy. The manufacturer focuses primarily on devices that combine several tools. The Cadothy 5S, for example, is a compact 5G version that is ideal for mobile applications. In contrast, the Cadothy 5 Ultra offers a larger, more powerful solution with an integrated touchscreen, two cameras and a professional audio module with XLR connection. These devices make it possible to produce high-quality live streams both from home and on the move, and the new products will soon be launched on the market and promise to significantly improve the quality and flexibility of live streaming.
