Livestream as a cost-effective alternative to face-to-face events

Moneten, flakes, toads – there are numerous expressions for money. You certainly don’t want to throw your money down the drain, or do you have money to burn? The topic of money plays a role in all areas of everyday life. This also applies to events and functions. A pure presence event lasting several days can quickly cost a lot of money. In contrast, a livestream or a hybrid event can be cheaper and thus a real alternative. Not only do you save costs, but you also protect the environment at the same time.

At eye level with the audience with a livestream

Let’s assume, for example, that you are planning a conference lasting several days with numerous guests and top-class speakers. You want to discuss current developments in your industry with your audience from all over the world and set the course for a successful future. As with a livestream, the event may have to be planned and prepared for several months. But is it really necessary for all guests and speakers to be present on site? Or isn’t a livestream even more suitable because the participants don’t have to travel?

Cost drivers of a face-to-face event

With an on-site event, for example, there are the costs of travel. Some participants travel to the event in their own cars, while others use the company car. The travel costs for speakers who arrive by plane or train, for example, must also be taken into account. Of course, as the organiser of a conference, you do not assume the entire costs for all participants. With a livestream or a hybrid event, on the other hand, you can cross the travel costs off the budget list completely, as there are none.

Your disadvantages with a face-to-face event

What other costs can put a strain on the budget with an on-site meeting? Your employees have to prepare the event. Of course, the right location also plays a big role. Depending on the number of participants, you may have to rent a large hall. You and your team have to prepare the location accordingly with suitable tables and chairs, information material and posters. Catering also needs to be booked and costs money.

The livestream as a cost-effective alternative

You can already see what we are getting at: An on-site conference with numerous guests costs a lot more than a livestream or a hybrid event. There are often hidden cost drivers in a face-to-face event that are not apparent at first glance. With a livestream, you save costs, reduce stress for your employees and protect the environment at the same time. A livestream is therefore a real alternative to a face-to-face event. The German Youth Institute, for example, also opted for a livestream.
