The Munich District Association of the Bavarian Red Cross is also breaking new digital ground with its general meeting. Instead of being held in person as usual, the 2021 General Meeting was broadcast via livestream. Thanks to the streaming technology and expertise of our qualified Stream1 employees, the general meeting was perfectly transmitted and made accessible to all interested members.
Members’ meeting and candidate presentation streamed live from Munich
Karl-Heinz Demenat, 1st Chairman of the Munich District Association of the BRK, led through the event and reported on the developments of recent years. Of course, the treasurer should not be missing at a general meeting. He described the financial development and the chairwoman of the relevant committee spoke about the budget. We played the speakers’ PowerPoint slides as a split screen into the live image of the stream. Another highlight followed towards the end of the event: the presentation of the candidates for the Board elections.

Detailed planning was essential for the successful broadcast of the general meeting. Due to the high number of members of the BRK and the potentially many simultaneous accesses to the streaming landing page https://brk.stream1.eu/, we programmed a pure HTML page to withstand high access numbers. In addition, the stream was transmitted in 3 resolutions: 480p, 720p and 1080p make it possible for every end device – from iPhones to projectors – to receive the ideal resolution. 3 servers with 10 Gibt/s connections also ensured reliability and a bandwidth for up to 15,000 viewers.
Video on demand: streaming recording after the general meeting
Following the members’ meeting in Munich, we provided the BRK with a recording of the event as a video on demand for further use. This means that members can still watch the event afterwards.
