Multilivestreaming München

Multistreaming for global corporation

An estimated half a million viewers, 40 social media channels and a focused team of ten: multistreaming for a major global corporation was not an everyday business, even for us as a livestream agency. We are all the more pleased that everything went smoothly and that everyone is happy with our performance. In this blog post we explain in more detail how the stream and the preparations went. In addition, we also give an insight into the costs that you can expect with multistreaming.

Launch of several products in Munich high-class location

The request came a month before the livestream: “We need help handling 40 platforms.” Not a request for every day, but just the challenge we need.

Unfortunately, we can not reveal all the details, trade secret 😉 Only so much: It should be a launch of several products in a Munich location. The main stream was in English and was simultaneously translated by 8 interpreters. Our scope of duties includes exactly 40 social media channels in total: 1x TikTok, 18x Youtube, 9x Facebook and 12x Twitter.

The process of multistreaming – the signals are distributed to the individual channels

Setting up the livestream on 40 social media channels

Conversely, this meant that all livestreams had to be created individually on our channels. Title, image and description correct? Is the RTMP address correct? Then create livestream! And all this forty times. For a large corporation with many thousands of followers, no mistake should be made, because the Internet forgets nothing. But with concentration, division of tasks and double control, everything fit perfectly. The test, a few days before the livestream, also went flawlessly. Because only with a live test could we ensure that the right signal arrives on each channel.

Clear division of tasks and briefings for the day of the livestream

For the day of the livestream, we transformed our meeting room into a command center: multiple screens, plus laptops, headphones and a whole lot of concentration. After more than 200 livestreams, the Stream1 team is so well-rehearsed that even such a large stream went off without a hitch. With the help of clear division of tasks and briefings, everyone knew exactly what they had to do and what they should pay attention to. A glance is often enough to draw attention to something.

The cost of multistreaming

But what costs do you have to expect with multistreaming? Well, we can’t answer that as a blanket statement. Because every stream is individual, of course. But as a basic formula we can say: one person can monitor up to four streams simultaneously. This means that a team of ten is needed for 40 channels. It is also recommended that you book an additional person who keeps track of everything and can intervene immediately in case of problems.
