Liebherr Livestream

Livestream of a hackathon – a hybrid event firework display of innovation

In March 2024, the grand finale of an international hackathon took place in Bavaria, an event that brought together creative minds from all over the world at a corporate headquarters. Over the course of four days, the finalist teams took on the challenge of perfecting the ideas they had developed over the previous months – ideas that would significantly advance both colleagues and customers.

Developing creative and useful solutions as a team

The term hackathon certainly makes many people think of a group of hackers who gain unauthorised access to company computers and then blackmail the company. However, the word is a mixture of hacking and marathon and refers to events in which groups work closely together for a few days. The aim is to develop creative and useful solutions to a problem in the limited time available.

The goal: Hackathon champions 2024

In the case of the hackathon in a large city in Bavaria, the groups consisted of participants from different departments of the company. They demonstrated what makes a hackathon so special: an impressive mix of creativity, technical expertise and team spirit. The goal: Hackathon Champions 2024. The energy in the room was palpable for three days as the teams competed for the best solution.

Livestream of the final and the award ceremony with Stream1

We are proud to have provided the technical and creative support for such a dynamic and innovative event. From the lighting to the sound, our team ensured that everything ran smoothly during the final and the subsequent live stream award ceremony. We used our classic set-up for the livestream. Three PTZ cameras captured the action on stage in high-resolution images. The highlight: the cameras can be controlled remotely using a control panel. This saves the customer costs, as only one operator is required for three cameras. We again relied on the Mine Media Encoder Q8 and the Bonding Router M4 Mini for flawless transmission to the web. These two products are indispensable for us and are used on every livestream.

In addition, our photographers and filmmakers accompanied the participants of the hackathon in the run-up to the event and captured valuable moments that impressively reflect both the intensity and the innovative spirit of the participants. The company then used these images and clips for its social media channels. The company now has enough content for social media to report on the hackathon.
