On 6 February 2021, we experienced an unusual silence at Hellabrunn Zoo – we practically had the park to ourselves. On this Saturday, no one was there except a presenter from Radio Gong, the zoo director and Martin and Michael from Stream1. The time during the pandemic was really crazy. Suddenly, livestreams became a versatile option – from puppet theatre to funerals, as well as a relaxed stroll through Hellabrunn Zoo. If you want to take another look, you can find the video here: https://youtu.be/Seiamsw3lKU?t=2516.
The story behind it: 8-year-old Matthis from Neuhausen wanted to go to the zoo with his grandad again. He especially likes the lions and also thinks the little baby elephant Otto is so cute. But because the zoo had to remain closed due to coronavirus, Radio Gong 96,3 asked us if we would like to do a livestream walk for all the children in Munich. We were super flexible, because the stream took place just two days after the enquiry. And that’s how this picture came about.
