IBC 2023 Livestream

Livestream and broadcasting news from ibc 2023

ibc in Amsterdam is one of the most important trade fairs for video and broadcasting. In 2023, the show was once again at the forefront in full size and with all kinds of news from the industry. Of course, Martin and Jakob from our team took the opportunity to speak to manufacturers of cameras, livestream mixers and other production systems on site. Here is a brief overview:

Kiloview:

The Chinese manufacturer of NDI transmission technology presented another part of its announced product portfolio at the ibc. In one sentence: In future, all production signals will be sent via the network. NDI will have a permanent place in professional production and cameras and monitors will send and receive all image signals via NDI in the future.

The Kilolink server was new to us: A software for managing all Kiloview NDI encoders and decoders. We were also able to hold one of the first Kiloview bonding encoders (P3) in our hands.

Telycam:

The manufacturer of PTZ cameras for broadcast and conference technology has made a name for itself in recent years thanks to its high quality and strong innovative strength. We have already been able to see the new models for 4K production and 1-inch sensors and are looking forward to testing the products ourselves in our studio soon.

Canon:

We don’t need to introduce the long-established leader in the camera and film business. What was exciting for us, however, was that the PTZ camera range is being further expanded. We are already using the Canon CRN-500 models diligently in our productions. We are very satisfied with the CRN-500. Operation, processing and functions deliver an all-round satisfactory result. The picture quality is perfect for broadcasting. Combined with the control options of the Canon controllers or with controllers from the Skaarhoj range, the Canon PTZ offers a super-efficient production option with first-class output.
Canon also presented a new controller at the ibc: CANON RC-IP1000 is precisely matched to the Canon PTZs and offers a flood of setting options in a compact device. The new autotracking function, which can be retrofitted to the PTZ models as an update, was also exciting.

Astera:

The Munich-based manufacturer of LED lighting with permanently installed rechargeable batteries has presented a completely new development: Fresnel spotlights, i.e. so-called stepped lenses with rechargeable battery on LED technology. These portable spotlights, which can be controlled via app or remote control, can be a real relief in livestream production. We really liked the product.

SWIT:

The colleagues from Swit have long since ceased to be “just” a manufacturer of LED panels and batteries for broadcasting. At ibc, Swit presented a new encoder with intercom and video return from its NDI portfolio and, of course, the matching monitors – also with NDI as input.

Skaarhoj:

The innovative company from Denmark is best known for its control consoles and its variety of connections. The new “Reactor 2.0” firmware was presented at the ibc. We are excited and want to test it soon!

Cadothy:

The “Amaze” from Cadothy “did it to us” the most at the ibc. The device is a complete novelty for all those who want to combine live streaming, social media and possibly also shopping. This is because it replaces the smartphone as a camera for Instagram or TikTok and provides the high-class look of an in-built camera as well as countless connections for other media, such as external cameras, playback notebooks or video playback.

All other videos from the ibc can be found in our YouTube playlist.
