Video Content Marketing mit Event Livestream und Shorts auf YouTube

Nothing for the bin! Video content marketing with event livestream and shorts on YouTube

As a Munich-based video agency, we are always being asked for pro bono projects.
Of course, we can’t just work pro bono and for a good cause, but with this project
our entire team “got it”. The story was as simple as it was ingenious, the character of the
main protagonist was straight out of a picture book: a rubbish cyclist. Roman Hackl.

What did the waste cyclist do?

Over a period of 1.5 years, Roman collected bottles from the roadside around the municipality of Aying. He found and collected 8,000 “EU beer bottles”. His passion for collecting is a great blessing for his fellow human beings, because he collects not only the beer bottles, but also all the other rubbish he encounters along the roadside and separates it according to type at the recycling centres.

What was the idea of the waste cyclist?

The rubbish cyclist not only likes to collect bottles, but also praise and recognition – and rightly so. And he wanted to show how many 8,000 bottles are and how long a bottle snake made of these 8,000 bottles is. Since his action, we know: around 600 metres!

What did we do?

Inspired by the curious idea of lining up 8,000 bins in a long queue to make it visible to as many people as possible, the team of our YouTube agency decided to accompany the action via livestream.

Video content around the Müllradler project

The project resulted in about 20 hours of video material from 5 camera perspectives. Enough material for YouTube content videos, shorts and of course for the livestream.

We show here three content versions of the event in “Livestream”, “Documentary” and “Short”, all created around the livestream of the pro bono project.

Livestream:
The five-hour livestream was a spontaneous production in which we tried to turn spontaneous viewers of the stream into guests on site. It worked, too!
