IMB Hohenbrunn Bürgerdialog

Citizen dialogue as a sign of transparency – Stream1 as technical partner

Whether it’s new wind turbines, the construction of a flood buffer or the development of a new building area, citizens increasingly want to actively shape their home and demand a say. Different opinions and information are coming together, certainly intensified by social media. In order to eliminate ambiguities and inform citizens, municipalities are increasingly relying on citizen dialogues.

Involving the citizens of Hohenbrunn at an early stage

This was also the case in the municipality of Hohenbrunn. The municipal council invited interested citizens to a discussion on local development. Topics included the general conditions for the construction of a secondary school and a Montessori school and a change in the land use plan for the Hohenbrunn West area. Hohenbrunn’s mayor Stefan Straßmair (CSU) and his deputy Anke Lunemann (Greens) want to involve the citizens in the project “Development of the building area west of the railway” at an early stage and thus offer as much transparency as possible in the decision-making process.

Recording of the citizens’ information on the development of the village

As the number of participants was limited to 60 due to Corona restrictions, we from Stream1 recorded the citizens’ information on local development live. The idea behind this is that a video recording will be available for all to see on the website www.hohenbrunn.de. This way, all citizens can inform themselves about the results of the citizens’ dialogue. A recording contributes significantly to a transparent, comprehensible decision-making process.

IMB Hohenbrunn Citizens' Dialogue
A video recording of the citizens’ dialogue is available on the website of the municipality of Hohenbrunn for all interested parties.

IMB Institute: Experts for Crisis Intervention and Conflict Management

Particularly important for us: fair moderation. This task was taken on by the IMB Institute for Mediation and Conflict Management from Vaterstetten. The experts for crisis intervention, mediation and relationship management supported the municipality of Hohenbrunn during the planning process. They developed an exciting concept for the dialogue on local development and moderated the information event.

On the initiative of the municipality of Hohenbrunn: Citizens’ dialogue and ideas workshop

At the citizens’ dialogue in the Hohenbrunn Stadl, Mayor Stefan Straßmair emphasised to the 6o participants that there are no concrete plans yet. An expert is currently examining the flora and fauna on the property “west of the railway”. Only after the expert’s report has been completed will a possible development be considered and preliminary planning started. The next step initiated by the municipality of Hohenbrunn is an ideas workshop in which all interested citizens can participate.

A citizens’ dialogue, in which all interested citizens and residents can be involved in the development process at an early stage, sets an example for transparency and comprehensibility. As a technical partner, we are happy to support municipalities and cities with the recording. We can also stream the public dialogue live online on request. Call us for an initial discussion on 089 41 41 453 10.
