20 years ago, the municipality of Unterhaching took what was at the time a very courageous step: the extraction of energy from hot water. To celebrate this pioneering achievement in modern energy production, Geothermie invited guests to a ceremony. In keeping with the spirit of progress, the event was held on a hybrid basis. Some of the guests were on site, while spectators could follow the ceremony digitally on their smartphones or laptops.
Affordable, ecological and safe: heat supply from geothermal energy
In hydrothermal geothermal energy, hot deep water can be used to generate heat, cold and electricity. In the case of Unterhaching, the water-bearing layer is located 3,500 metres underground. In a closed circuit, the heat is transferred via heat exchangers to the municipality’s district heating network. Today, half of Unterhaching’s households are already supplied with affordable, ecological and safe heat. Since 2007, a total of 390,937 tonnes of CO2 have been saved. Under the motto “20 years of Geothermie Unterhaching – safe heat for generations”, the company invited all interested parties to a hybrid anniversary event.
“This is how climate change works!” – Impulse lecture by astrophysicist Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch
The first highlight of the hybrid ceremony was undoubtedly the keynote speech by the well-known science journalist Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch. The astrophysicist highlighted geothermal energy as a very good example of how modern and safe energy can be generated. In addition, Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch presented a very realistic and at the same time gloomy picture of current climate policy. All is not lost yet, but it is high time to do something and rethink, said the 62-year-old. The keynote speech was followed by one of the two moderated discussion rounds. In the first round, Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch was joined by Dr. Erwin Knapek, former mayor of Unterhaching, and two representatives of the young generation, Clara and Xaver from Unterhaching. The topic was the importance of climate neutrality and what contribution geothermal energy can make. Unterhaching’s mayor Wolfgang Panzer formed the second round of talks together with Wolfgang Geisinger, managing director of Geothermie Unterhaching, and Andreas Lederle, managing director of Erdwärme Grünwald. Among other things, the trio talked about the plans for the full expansion of the Unterhaching heating network and the long-standing strong partnership between the two geothermal communities. They also discussed how a sustainable heat supply from local sources could look in the future.
Hybrid ceremony by the full-service agency Stream1 from Munich
The hybrid anniversary event was realised by Stream1. In addition to the streaming technology such as 3 brand new Canon PTZ cameras, headset microphones or Astera titanium tubes for the lighting, we also took care of the design of the background wall. For the anniversary, Geothermie also had a brand relaunch and a new logo. To ensure that the background wall really shone in the right colours, we provided a colour proof in advance. In addition, this time we used two additional side walls on the left and right instead of the classic wall. This created a nice 3D effect.
Landing page with automatic mail dispatch
In the same way, a user-friendly and attractive landing page is needed for the correct execution of a live stream. No problem for us. So we set up a landing page for geothermal energy including a suitable player. Of course in the new look after the relaunch. After registration, we sent each participant a link for the livestream by automatic mail.
Are you also having an anniversary soon and would like as many people as possible to be able to take part? Then get in touch with us: as a full-service agency, we take care of everything from A for Astera lighting to Z for Zoom conference. Feel free to contact us at 0049 89 41 41 453 10 or hello@stream1.eu.
